Questions & Answers
Q. Question? Hi I booked a long weekend break in april asked for the centre of barcelona in walking distance as the last holiday we had a similar problem. so the travel agent reassured me yes defiantly centre of barcelona now on the forms you get from travel agents it all says barcelona everywhere. last night i decided to look up the hotel and its 30 miles away in another place called terressa not one time does it say terressa on my holiday forms. as i said the last holiday in rome we had the same problem and i lost the hotel money and had to pay full for another hotel. been to see travel company today and they have said it might cost me more surely this is there fault as they assurres me it was the centre of barcelona any ideas on what i can do

A. Best Answer: It's too late to do anything as you have allready paid on an "all inclusive" holiday.
Next time realise "all inclusive" vacations are cheap for a reason.

Q. Question? Just need some reviews of these sites to see if it would be a suitable way of booking a hotel for a UK resident in Rome...

A. Best Answer: Yes and they are fine but look out for booking fees etc. I booked a hotel on heathrowairport.com, there is a link on the home page to 'book airport hotels'. I know you are not looking for an airport hotel but you can change your search criteria to anywhere in the world. What is good about this, is that it is endorsed by BAA and there are no booking fees.

Q. Question? 4* or 5* hotels in Rome, Italy.

Suitable for a family of 3 - 2 adults and one 8 yr old child

Within the city centre.

A. Best Answer: I live in Rome, and I suggest the Starhotel Metropole, that is really close to the central station.
It's an internatonal hotel, it's a 4 star.
My cousins stayed there two years ago when they came to Rome. They choosed a superior room, not a standard one, because the price was not so different and the optionals were better.

If you prefer a 5 star hotel, there is also the La Griffe Luxury Hotel, in via nazionale. It's quite new, and it is not very big. I don't know anybody who's stood in this hotel. Anyway I always see many groups of american tourists that enter there, so it should be good. And it is a 5 star!!

The most famous 5 star hotel in rome are: the hotel exedra, the hotel bernini, the Grand Hotel Plaza and the grand hotel st. regis. They are in the center but are very very expensive, so I don't suggest them!

Q. Question? A man was getting a haircut prior to a trip to Rome. He mentioned the trip to the barber who responded, "Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded, dirty and full of Italians. You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?"

"We're taking TWA," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"TWA?" exclaimed the barber. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are rude, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at the downtown International Marriott."

"That dump! That's the worst hotel in the city. The rooms are small, the service is surly and they're overpriced. So, whatcha doing when you get there?"

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the barber. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."

A month later, the man again came in for his regular haircut. The barber asked him about his trip to Rome.

"It was wonderful," explained the man, "not only were we on time in one of TWA's brand new planes, but it was overbooked and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a beautiful 28 year old stewardess who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel - it was great! They'd just finished a $25 million remodelling job and now it's the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us the presidential suite at no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the barber, "I know you didn't get to see the Pope."

"Actually, we were quite lucky, for as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder and explained that the Pope likes to personally meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke to me."

"Really?" asked the Barber. "What'd he say?"

He asked me where I got this lousy haircut.
Mathew, there are a few courses you could go on in order to read a little quicker. It may even cheer you up. Try Scola.

A. Best Answer: That guy showed the barber that there's two sides of the story.. im sure that shut the barber up.

Q. Question? I'm vacationing in Italy for 12 days and I wanna know if my iphone will have 3G coverage, does it cost money since i'm in a different country or will it be free? Also will my laptop receive wifi or does it all depend on the hotel? I'll be in Rome, Venice and Florence so i'm gonna be in pretty built up areas.

A. Best Answer: It will work ok and Italy has good 3G coverage, you'll need to get an Italian charger for it though, as electrical plugs in Italy are a completely different design and use a different voltage (220volts compared to US 120volts). You will pay international roaming charges, which are VERY expensive. It could end up costing you $2-3+ per minute to receive a call. Check with your cell phone company for traveller ad ons before you go, which would likely reduce the cost.

Your hotel should have some sort of WiFi.

Q. Question? She complains alot for instance she was saying she is dying to go away next year and yet when my father and i suggested Rome she was like "Oh no I dislike the Pope". I wouldn't set foot in it for all the money in the world. Then when I said Madrid she was like "Oh no the food over their is disgusting ". Considering we went to Salou last time and just because ethe food in the hotel wasn't nice doesn't mean we didn't get a nice meal around the corner somewhere else. She then went on to say how she wants to go horse back riding and like you can't do that in Madrid or more she wouldn't fancy it there. I feel like I have no mates because her criticism is rubbing off on me as if one of my friends does something wrong I'm straight in there ranting and raving. I've said this to her before and she starts an argument with me. I feel nbad as my dad and I wouldn't mind going to either places but like she said if we wanna go to Rome we should go on our own. She is always in my face even when I'm on the phone saying "Who is it".? I don't do that with her. Please help how do I deal with her until get my own place.? Should I go on holidays on my own next year as I will be 18 yet she says she wont let me go on my own and yet she knows I've know one to go with.?

A. Best Answer: I don't think you're whining. At seventeen, you're developing an ever more clear idea of what you believe family life should be, and it sounds as if your current situation is far too negative. Negative energy and too much criticism certainly do rub off on others, same as positive energy and support. When you talk with her, don't follow her lead and criticize her. Don't blame her behavior for your lack of friends. Don't tell her she's ruining vacation plans. Rather, let her know politely and gently that you'd rather know what she DOES want rather than hear any more about what she dislikes. Ask for positive suggestions. And give her positive suggestions as well, about letting your phone calls be your business. Tell her that if you make plans to do anything with anyone, you'll be sure to let her know who/when.
Good luck. You sound thoughtful about this.

Q. Question? A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:

" Rome ? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty. You're crazy to go to Rome . So, how are you getting there?"

"We're taking Easy jet," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"Easy jet?" exclaimed the hairdresser. ?That?s a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River called Teste."

"Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it?s gonna be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump."

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and maybe get to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant.

Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."

A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome .

"It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time in one of Easy jet's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot.

And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a £5 million remodelling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope."

"Oh, really! What'd he say ?"

He said: "Who the f*** did your hair?"

A. Best Answer: Yes quite humorous

Q. Question? Hostelworld fake reviews Budapest
Right now just look at Hostelworld 260 properties 120 hostels, over the rating 88% 50 properties. To reach 88% is very difficult (look on other side booking.com, expedia) or look other Cities London , Paris Rome.
Of course all of the ratings are fake reviews (let say most of the ratings)
Last year they did the same on hostelbookers.
Where is not so important the rating even the best hotels for the cheapest prices are worse than 88%.

A. Best Answer: I've used Hostelworld.com several times, and only had one dud - and that was in Barcelona, not Budapest.

The idea behind the ratings is to read through them and find the negative things about a place that won't bother you so much - for example, some people might like it if there are lots of 20 year old party animals staying in a place and making noise late at night, but I wouldn't. But then, I don't mind if there are lots of stairs to be climbed to a place and there's no lift.

I think those reviews are less fake than you might think.

Q. Question? Rome, Need your help..Hotels?
Can you give me any recommendations to a good Hotel to stay in, looking to go May next year for my wife's birthday, want to plan this right so starting early.
Any don't stay here hotels are also welcome, or any other info would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.

A. Best Answer: I use the Venere.com site for hotels here in Italy. http://www.venere.com/italy/rome/ A couple of places I like in rome are the Accademia right around the corner from Trevi Fountain http://www.venere.com/hotels/rome/hotel-accademia/ and the Cesàri near the Pantheon http://www.venere.com/hotels/rome/hotel-cesari/ . Both of these are walking distance to the major tourist attractions.
