Q. Question?
Which websites, travel operators etc are best? Originally wanted 4-5 days in Rome but any other suggestions would be good.
My sister was meant to get a job and pay for me but she still hasn't got one and now there's talk of leaving without me! We were meant to go to Rome but we're not fussy! Anywhere will do- we just wanted to go on holiday this year before our lives get manic and irretrievable in September.
Hotel and flight would be preferable but not fussy- beggars can't be choosers!
Thanks in advance!
I don't have a job because I just finished a three year law degree in one year for which I have to do retakes in August because I was ill- so when exactly am I going to look for a job when the time in between is going to be spent doing training contract applications and I am starting my LPC in September?
I'm in Bradford- Don't mind any airport in the North- Manchester, etc is fine...
A. Best Answer: www.jet2.com for flights
www.hotel.com for hotels
Q. Question?
Before anyone anwsers, i will be staying in Rome and Tuscany in July.
I was just wondering what the best things there is to do for a 15 year old girl?, i have a 17 year old sister who will not want to be stuck in the hotel all week.
What is the nightlife like in rome/tuscany? and is the drinking limit really 16? or is that just when your with family?
one last question!, what is a proper italian poplar drink to ask for?, want to try some and maybe bring it home
thankyou!
x
btw i will be staying in centre rome and viaggerio in tuscany
A. Best Answer: Drinking limit doesn't matter. Everyone drinks, and anyone can buy booze. As for a good drink: Stick with wine. If you get to see Firenze, to the right of the Piazza del Duomo (when facing the main entrance) there will be a wine shop to the left. Good prices and good selection. Buy Chianti and Brunello di Montecino. There is plenty of nightlife, and you won't be bored. If you get bored in Italy there must be something wrong with you.
Q. Question?
We're going to Rome and Milan (3 days each) - and will possibly be taking day trips to Venice and Florence. Flights and hotels have been booked. We're most likey going to get 3-day interrail passes at £57 each. How much extra money do you think we'll need to take for food, extra travel, tourist attractions etc.
Would like to see as much as possible for as little as possible, lol.
A. Best Answer: Try to avoid taking too much - Venice is very expensive. You may be better off taking your debit card and using the ATM's so you just get what you need, but check your card issuers fees. If you are lucky you are with Nationwide who charge no fees and give midrate for exchange rather than the amex tourist rate, this makes buying foreign currency (in this case the €) around 4% cheaper than any other way. If you must take cash allow at least €150 per day for the two of you
Q. Question?
I will be going to Italy in early September with two friends. We have already booked the flights and hotels: will be staying in Rome for 3 nights and Milan for 3 nights.
My questions are:
a) In your opinion, where are the best places to visit in Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice (we will be taking day trips from Milan)
b)What is the best and cheapest way to travel from Rome to Milan?
c)Any other tips? We're student so don't want to spend too much money.
NB: We're from the UK
A. Best Answer: Hi!
I'm from Milan but I visited Rome.
Great differences between Milan and Rome are: language (Milan is a multicultural city and speaks a standard Italian, Rome has a typical dialectal accent), life (Milan is the centre of Italian Economy and Work, while Rome is more linked to Tourism).
Milan is a very big city, it is a "little" New York.
Milan has inserted its Cultural Heritages in its new life. And you will see Duomo, Teatro Alla Scala, Castello Sforzesco, Santa Maria delle Grazie exc...near all the newest buildings.
Milan has many shops and boutiques. Footbridges are many but...is difficult entering if you have no invites ;o(
People here, buy media at Ricordi Mediastore, Messaggerie Musicali, Mediaworld, Saturn, and Cloths at Miss Sixty, Footlocker, Levi's, Nadine, Zara, exc...You will find the boutiques linked to the cloths showed in the footbridges by Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Biagiotti exc...in Via della Spiga or Via Montenapoleone near Duomo and Teatro alla Scala, but they are very very expensive! (For example an hat...1000 euros...).
as for pubs...Milan is fantastic!
We have great discos: Alcatraz, Rolling Stone, Hollywood, de Sade, ...Pubs: Cowboys Guest Ranch, Milwaukee'd Diner, Angelo Nero, exc...and many beautiful places with beaches and tropical swimming pools, like Acquatica, The Beach ad Idroscalo Punta dell'Est, or very fashion places like Cheval Cafe (At Ippodromo near the Leonardo's Statue), Just Cavalli Cafe (The local of Cavalli, a stylist), exc...I send you a link in which yu will find all the most famous discos, pubs, hotels exc.. of Milan even if it is written in Italian: http://www.milanonotte.it/discoteche_mil...
Rome has a very beautiful centre and many many things to visit!And...Venice...has to be seen totally!!!Venice is only in the world.A city on the water, without cars. Venice was built completely on the sea....thousands years ago.
The cheapest way to travel from Rome to Milan is surely by Train www.trenitalia.it
To have cheapest hotel in Milan you have to stay quite far from the Centre and the Station. Milan is not big as New York, so even the farest places...are near ;o)
See the map of the Underground www.atm.it and you can find near the Subway.
Have a nice journey!!!
P.S. This website was very good in finding cheap hotels for youngs!I stayed in London this New Year's Eve 10 night for 300 euros!

Q. Question?
My parents took my sister to Rome when she was 16. She fell in love with one of the hotel waiter's and would go out with him at night, when my parents went to bed.
One night my parents wanted to speak to my sister and knocked on the door of her room - no reply. They sat up anxiously, until she returned to the hotel.
My sister has since confessed that if the waiter had asked her to stay - she would have. Now that knowledge, would have worried my parents even more!
A. Best Answer: I was always in trouble as a teenager. I got expelled from school, had the cops come to the house a few times, ran away from home...you name it, I did it.
Q. Question?
I am travelling up from the South and looking for a reasonably priced hotel in July with car parking and easy public transport access to the city of Roma. I would also consider Pensione as well if its of high quality with Air Con.
Ive found the Jolly Midas Hotel has free car parking. Looking for alternatives since the reviews arent great
Ideally I need free car parking and room rate of no more than €100 / $150
A. Best Answer: Consider Prime Hotel Roma Cassia
http://www.accommodationz.com/hotel_1956.html
it's a 4 star hotel with good rates
or if you are looking for a B&B, you can have at Villa Mas:

Q. Question?
I am thinking of staying in an apartment instead of a hotel. I already looked into & it said about 65 Euro's a day. I am planning this trip for April of 2009. Yes i know that is very far away, but its never a bad idea to start saving etc now. I looked it up & it will cost about $1000 round trip for each of us to get there. How much spending money would you say will be safe to bring along? By the way i am American so i will be using dollars. Also since i have so much time to save, money will not be an issue, so i am not interested in staying in hostels. I just want an idea of how much it would cost.
Qbert P, actually 65 euros is not cheap to me. That is $130 a day to am American. Also, i checked the prices on the plane tickets & the apartment for April of 2009 & thats what the prices where. I could of paid for it right then with a credit card & everything would have been legit, but i didnt. Thanks anyways though.
A. Best Answer: You need to be watching the financial channels... Airfares are expected to TRIPLE in the next 12 months... the U.S. Dollar takes about $1.56 to buy ONE Euro so 65 Euros a day would be $107 at today's rate and by 2009, it's going to be much worse. As for food... you can eat rather cheaply in Rome... but if your tastes are for some of the fabulous food in the Trastave District... it can get real pricy real fast.
Whatever your daily costs are at home in AmeriKa... multiply that amount by 2 and you would probably be close to food costs... add in the $107 per day and about $3000 per person for airfare and you should be close to what your actual costs will be
Q. Question?
I am hopefully travelling to Italy this summer, and want to have a beach holiday, but would like it to be close to Rome as i would like to go into the city to see museums etc.
I found a place called Fregene but am unsure about it, and am finding it difficult to find hotels.
I am 18 so would like an affordable and young place to go with my boyfriend.
Any ideas, or places you have visited that i should look into?
Thanks,
Names of good hotels would also be good :D
A. Best Answer: Fregene, Fiumicino and Santa Marinella are quite close to Rome; you could even take a hotel in Rome (in this case choose the Aurelia area, which is close and not that expensive) and go back and forth to the beach.
Ostia is a bit further, but lovely during summer (You CAN'T go back and forh, it's too long!).
Anzio and Nettuno are lovely places too, but definitely too far from Rome unless you rent a car or are prepared to catch trains.
Q. Question?
Planning a trip to Rome, late October, what are the must sees and do's when there, also any good hotels anyone can recommend, ??? What's the temp like there too?? Goin to be there 3 days, thanks!!!
A. Best Answer: You should definetely visit the Colosseum, The Roman Forum, the Vatican and its museums, the Piazza de Spanga, The Pantheon. There are daily sightseeing tours and l suggest to visit places with one( it's easy - fast and exciting)http://www.viator.com/Rome/d511-ttd http://www.rome-day-tours.com/?gclid=CIHuj8z755MCFQurugod9QN3WQ

Also as far as it concerns hotels there are plenty in the city centre such as the Augusta Lucilla Palace, Hotel Mondial Best Western, Rome Hotel Londra & Cargill, Hotel Palladium Palace etc
The weather in Oct is a bit unstable, rainy but with high possibility of having sunshine
